It’s a great festival, they have got it right, i’m impressed every year by the organisation and lineup. I have heard horror stories and friends have had gripes but overall most experiences i’ve been party too are positive, and last year I could not fault it, apart from being so far from the main stage due to being at The Castle stage the other end of the festival until just before the headliners came on. Just spoilt for choice. Same agin this year!
What do I mean teasing us, well for those who have not been, or thinking about it, or are not used to festivals it is all about the planning. The two main stages being The Common Stage and The Castle Stage are at opposite end so getting between each one definitely raises your step count, therefore it is key to know who’s is on what stage and when, something that has not been released in it full format.
From the line-up on the right I can certainly pick out which bands I want to see, but can I make them all, which will I be compromising on. It is a great choice on all three days.
Friday
So far on the app (available to download from the app store). The Coomon Stage headliner od QOTSA is a given with support from Michael Kiwanuka, as is the Castle Stage with Madness, so who is before Madness, if it is Wunderhorse or the Mary Wallopers, when are the K’s on and when and where are Hot Wax and others booked?
Saturday
Here is the current Saturday plan , the headliners are set but that list underneath can certainly up the step count if split up a certain way. Headliners set and The Last Dinner Party listed on The Common Stage, where are Travis, Shed Seven playing? Public Service Broadcasting I can see at The Castle Stage, fingers crossed it falls well. By the style of music you start can see patterns in possible stage placement.
Sunday
Kings of Leon are obviously for The Common Stage Headliner, but with Mel C as a DJ headlining The Castle Stage, i’m going to hazard a guess that Gabrielle will be on before her. Hoping for The Reytons and The Zutons to be on The Castle Stage as well but they could both easily smash The Common Stage, Reverend & The Makers will be Castle?
Not sure when the final listing will be a available but waiting with baited breath. A lot of these bands I have seen over the last two years, this does mean that if I miss one or two it is not the end of the world, but I will also know what I am missing! It is the curse of a festival, a true double edged sword! It is going to be a great weekend. And of course a full write up / review and a plethora of images will be posted after the event.
