The lowdown: important information or facts about something, this something I have wanted since 1995. Burned by Electrafixion on Vinyl!
Electrafixion were an alternative rock band, formed by former Echo & the Bunnymen members Ian McCulloch and Will Sergeant in 1994, joined by bass guitarist Leon de Sylva and drummer Tony McGuigan. They released one album, Burned, and four singles and EPs before splitting up in 1996, due to the reformation of the Bunnymen. (Wikipedia)
I’ve always been a fan of Echo & the Bunnymen but i remember first seeing the Lowdown video on MTV back in 1995 and rushing out to buy it as soon as I could on CD single, just needed to own it. Zepher had already been released but not breaking the Top40 had passed me by on radio and i assume not a heavily syndicated on MTV as Lowdown. I bought the album on CD which is now stored away but still a regular play on my streams.
Then on the 15th of February I saw the official Ian Mcculloch Twitter / X feed post this below. That on RSD (Record Store Day) on the 20th April 2024, Burned will be released on Vinyl fo the first time.
You can/should all join the queue, just behind me! And if you have never heard it, you should.
We are pleased to announce that as part of Record Store Day 2024 we will be releasing the album ‘Burned’ by Electrafixion on vinyl for the first time. It will be available as black and white swirling vinyl. Record Store Day is 20.04.24. https://t.co/1Yhp02CiX5 pic.twitter.com/qR8k45tI5r
