The Bracknell, What Was More Impressive?

What was more Impressive? The band or the following?

They’ve been around since 2018 and have picked up a strong diehard fanbase along the way and they are only onto their second album ‘Falling Out of View’. I attend a lot of gigs either solo or with one to two friends but for this one, I had been badgered about seeing them for a while and Friday the 14th of March at The Joiners in Southampton fitting perfectly into the diary.

I am a big supporter and advocate for seeing the support acts but on this occasion, we were meeting before hand in a local bar, another great live music venue Heartbreakers. So, apologies to the support on the night, I heard they were good. The conversation about The Bracknell in Heartbreakers was something I do not witness that often prior to a gig, the excitement in the conversations all around me, there were people on mass all with on the same wavelength.

We made our way to The Joiners and just after our arrival The Bracknall just walked into the bar, straight into conversations with those in attendance, photos and chat, this is when most bands are hidden away in the green room, relaxing and preparing for their stage time, not these guys.

When the time came the room filled quickly. The atmosphere was fantastic, and I found myself instantly talking to others around me who were bouncing off the walls like 5 years olds after a bottle of cheap pop and a bag of penny chews.

The band then took to the stage to a raucous applause and just went straight into a fourteen song setlist greeted by a big singalong and many arms in the air. As live acts go their performance, the songs and the audience make for a great night. I certainly recommend going to see what everyone else already seems to know.

For those that do not know, The Bracknall is a five-piece guitar band from Essex, Collier Row I believe to be more precise, best known for their grassroots music. Their a debut album called “Going Nowhere Fast” was crowdfunded and released in 2022. They have just released a new album called “Falling Out of View”.
