Met these lads last year after a day of music, I walked into the Joiners in Southampton and for me they owned the day / night. It wasn’t a competition but when you stand back and reflect on your day, they stood out by a mile. Dates haven’t lined up for gigs since but this week I had a message from they saying they’d been added as a support slot for The Dangerous Summer, again at a The Joiners, I was not missing it.
They are not a band that you say “you know, they are a bit like or they sound like”, they have their own sound. Described as an alt/rock pop band, they layer music live, playing over an emotive backing tracking with thunderous drums, great basslines and guitar riffs with great vocal melodies. They create soundscapes as much as they do songs.
Tonight was a great night for them. I’m a big supporter of the support acts as i’ve mentioned in previous posts here, you never know who you might see in five years time headlining festivals or arena tours and as the lead singer from The Dangerous Summer said during his set, “Did you see those Love is Enough guys, awesome, they’re gonna be huge”. They’re was a good crowd tonight, a lot turning out early which is good to see and i hope they all took a piece of this performance home with them.
They are a busy band playing a lot on the South Coast so if you get a chance, go along and give them some support, you wont be disappointed.
